Teacher of Piano / Theory of Music / GCSE Music / A Level Music
I am an experienced music teacher, pianist, musical director and ABRSM examiner based in Chester, offering friendly and structured music tuition both in person and online.
I teach piano, ABRSM Music Theory, GCSE Music and A Level Music, working with students of different ages, abilities and musical goals. Lessons are tailored to each individual, whether they are learning for enjoyment, preparing for graded exams, working towards school qualifications, or looking to build confidence and understanding.
As a former Head of Music & Drama, I have many years of experience supporting young people through exams, performances and assessments. My teaching style is clear, encouraging and practical, with a strong focus on helping students understand how music works as well as how to perform it confidently.
For piano students, lessons can include technique, music reading, repertoire, interpretation, exam preparation and practice strategies. For theory and academic music students, I can support notation, rhythm, harmony, composition, listening skills, analysis and exam technique.
Alongside teaching, I work regularly as a pianist, accompanist and musical director. I have musically directed over 50 productions and have extensive experience supporting singers, instrumentalists and performers in rehearsal, examination and performance settings.
Face-to-face lessons are available in Chester, and online tuition is available for students across the UK and internationally. Lessons are supportive, focused and designed to help students make steady progress while developing confidence and enjoyment in music.
