Teacher of Trumpet, Cornet, Tenor Horn, Euphonium


Adelaide Channon BMus. (Hons.) MMus. Perf is a musician and teacher based in East London, she has 9 years of teaching experience and 22 years of trumpet playing and performing experience.

As a teacher, Adelaide has gained Five students entrance into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Two into the Melbourne Conservatory of Music and One into the Australian Institute of Music.

Adelaide is an accomplished performer as well, with credits ranging from playing with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra to being in backing bands for international artists such as James Morrison and Jane Rutter. She has also held the post of Solo Cornet for the Warringah Concert brass band (3 time national championship winners) and Principal solo tenor horn for Regent West London brass band. She has also performed three world premiers of solo trumpet works.

Adelaide is the recipient of several awards and scholarships from various musical institutions, including the Joan and James Armstrong Award for Musical Excellence from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, an Instrument Purchase Grant from the Royal College of Music, London and Champion of Champions in Trumpet Open Age from the North Sydney Eisteddfod.

She has also played in several ensembles that have received awards including Swift Timmy, which won first place in the UK songwriting contest 2019 and Second place in the Australian Country Music Awards.
Currently, Adelaide is teaching and playing whilst pursuing a PhD in Musicology.
