The Buffet Jazz Festival is an extremely rare clarinet. The Jazz Festival was manufactured from the late 1980's through to the 1990's and is now a deleted model, though the standard Festival clarinet is a very popular model which is still in production. Buffett used their most experienced craftsmen in the production of the Jazz Festival model, producing exquisite clarinets.
The bell features a tuning ring on the inside (I will show you). The barrel and bell do not have metal rings, this is common in manufactures who are confident their wood is the finest, and rings are not necessary to prevent cracking.
The wood is perfect, no cracks or tarnishes. It is unstained, hand selected Grenadilla. The dark brown is very beautiful!
I just sent the clarinet for a full overhaul and it plays perfectly.
The tuning is extremely good. The tone is very attractive. I am regrettably selling this clarinet as I have not managed to find an A clarinet which matches.
The clarinet comes with 2 barrels (one original and one a couple of mm longer to perfect the 440 pitch we need in the UK), a mouthpiece and its original brown leather buffet case.
I am writing this advert on tour and do not have the clarinet with me (for photos). If you are interested please do be in contact and I am happy to email photos and speak on the phone before meeting. (Though hopefully I will be able to add photos to this advert after posting!)
The clarinet is available to view ideally in Moorgate (central London), but near Maidstone in Kent can also be arranged.
I will accept cash or bank transfer only. (No paypal).
